Anti Aging Skin Care :: Itchy Skin

Are you looking for all-natural itchy skin relief?

For those with severely itchy skin, many have tried countless types of lotion and cream that are marketed as treatment for itchy, sensitive or dry skin. While these common topical medications may improve itchiness and pain for a time, there are few skin care products that address soreness and itchiness, and even fewer that provide lasting results. Most people with sensitive skin have breakouts of itchy red skin from several different causes, so that what works for one rash may be completely ineffective for another.

And to further complicate the matter of irritated skin care products, nearly all commercial skincare products contain harsh petrochemical ingredients that can irritate even non sensitive skin. I find it hard to believe that these chemicals would ever be included in any kind of remedy labeled to be for people who suffer from allergic skin reactions, but there they are. The reason, of course, is that these basic filler ingredients are cheap and widely available.

Not ever skin care product that irritates has harsh chemicals

Not all irritating skin care products contain these harsh ingredients. There are many organic skincare products that contain essential oils and other beneficial botanicals. Just be sure to check the ingredients to be sure whether the product is truly holistic. If there is an ingredient that even sounds like a chemical name, chances are it's not a holistic sensitive skin care product.

As more and more people return to all natural remedies for the pain and irritation of skin that's itchy, many commercial lines try to appeal to this holistic market with less than holistic products. For example, a skincare product that claims to be organic may have all the usual chemicals of common itchy or irritated skin treatment products, and only a smidgeon of some kind of organically grown botanical ingredient. While this skirting of proper organic content labeling would never fly in the agricultural and food supply industries, it is regular procedure for popular topical skin care products.

There are many homemade remedies for those with itchy, or easily irritated skin that are extremely easy to make, are very affordable and just as effective as any commercial or prescription skin treatments. Simply adding some oatmeal to a warm bath provides natural relief and actually improves the condition of the skin. Add some lavender essential oil directly to the affected areas for maximum pain control and increased healing as well.
